Read about the US use of depleted uranium weapons.  Official  US casualties for Gulf War I are listed at 147 killed and 457 wounded out of 700,000 troops that were deployed.  Since then, over 10,000 have died and another 200,000 are ill from the long term effects of exposure to depleted uranium aerosols which are a by product of the use of depleted uranium munitions.  That's 2 out of 7 ill and 1 in 70 dead from our own weapons!  Cancer rates among the Iraqi population have skyrocketed, and we can expect even higher subsequent cancer/illness rates among US troops in Gulf War II due to longer exposure to the aerosols created by the use of depleted uranium munitions (DU would undoubtedly be labeled an illegal, despicable terrorist weapon if used by any other country).
